nmap --script ssl-enum-ciphers -p 443 hostname.com

... gives information on the available ciphers for the given host and port

scan types

• -sT - SYN connect (connect() full 3 ways handshake)
• -sS - SYN stealth (->SYN, <-SYN/ACK, ->RST)
• -sP - Ping scan
• -sU - UDP scan
